Clan {US}CS 1st Annual LAN PARTY | WHAT A WEEKEND!

The LAN was unbelievable. All who attended had a blast and are already looking forward to next year. During the weekend, we fired up a total of 3 servers (2 of them compliments of Hytexx Gaming), and played CS, Q3A, and RA.

Thursday night, we had a chance to get most of the Pittsburgh guys, as well as Mike and his wife, Knight, and thai together for dinner and drinks. We had a chance to get to know eachother, and talk about the upcoming frag fest =P.

Friday the guys arrived one by one, and by the end of the day, most people made it in without a hitch. We got the network up and running, and it was smooth sailing from there.

Saturday consisted of an intense {US}CS 2v2 Tournament that included some very close matches.

The teams were:

{US}Virus & {US}ThaiMiShu - SECOND RUNNERS UP
{US}Mike & {US}Caesar - DEAD LAST

This was a double elimination tournament and ended as exciting as it began. In the championship round, the teams of {US}XGen/{US}Madcap took on {US}Foam/{US}Beer. Foam/Beer had a steep hill to climb having to knock off XGen&Mad twice to claim the championship. They took dust2 with ease winning 10-3. The match would then be decided on dust. Foam and Beer stayed on their winning ways early as T's on dust jumping up 2-0, but X and Madcap came back strong and took 7 games in a row ending the first half 7-2 (best out of 9 game rounds). As Terrorists, X and Mad rushed well and took the first 3 games making it impossible for Foam and Beer to make a comeback. The match ended at 10-3, clinching victory for X and Madcap giving them rights to the first ever {US}CS 2v2 Tournament Championship. GG to all who participated. Saturday night (in the middle of the CS tournament), we cooked out (at XGen's) and had a chance to throw a few horseshoes and throw back a few beers -- hmm perhaps Thai had a few too many =P. We refueled and got back to the gaming.

We resumed play on Sunday (well, those of us lucky enough to be able to stay on Sunday) and finally ended the LAN around 11pm.
